You're Invited: PPS Planning Meeting

Parents, students, community members and educators are invited to attend one of two work sessions on Tuesday, Nov. 6 to continue developing a future facilities plan for Portland Public Schools. We will continue the conversation started last May, building on those principles toward Portland’s vision for 21st Century schools. What facility changes are needed to make it real? What repairs and upgrades need to happen? Input from these sessions, along with findings from a facility assessment currently underway, will be folded into a set of options the district will take back out to the community early next year.

High Schoolers heading out

On Friday, November 2nd the high school students will be going to the Oregon Convention Center to attend the National College Fair – we have been doing this for years. Students will meet promptly at the Convention Center at 8:45 and check in with their metro teachers. Students who would like to leave from MLC should come to Stephen’s Metro in room 300 at 8:30. We will leave for the Oregon Convention Center soon after the bell rings. This activity is part of the metro curriculum and students will have an assignment for the morning. Students will be dismissed from the Convention Center at 11:30-11:45. Teachers and students that are returning to MLC will arrive between 11:45 and 12:15.

Help Build the Bioswale this Saturday, 10-2pm

Its finally happening.

Starting this Friday morning at 7am the parking lot will be closed and the Bioswale construction will be underway! Please plan to park on the playground for the next week.

Everyone is welcome to join the Bioswale crew that will be working this Saturday. The crew will meet from 10 -2pm. Bring work gloves, shovels, and your water bottle.
